I like this video a lot more than KNOW YOUR ENEMY… though I wish they’d trim a couple minutes off the song.

This is really cool and odd. On Friday night, Green Day decided to perform on Carson Daly as their alter ego band Foxboro Hot Tubs. I love the FHT album, so it’s really fucking cool that they performed Stop, Drop & Roll and Mother Mary, but just strange that they would do so while promoting the new Green Day album 21st Century Breakdown.
Nonetheless, good stuff. Those bastards shoulda promoted the FHT album more, it coulda been huge.

Last night I was at the Henry Fonda Theatre for a special Green Day concert and it was fucking awesome. It definitely made me appreciate the new album 21st Century Breakdown a lot more. They did about 3/4 of the new album, 3 songs? from American Idiot, a bunch of requests for old songs like Brat, Going To Pasalacqua, Christie Road, and Coming Clean, and then handful of classic hits. It was an uber rad show.
I was stoked to see that rather than have fans come up and play instruments on stage during their cover of the Operation Ivy song Knowledge (which they didn’t do at this show), they had fans come up and sing a verse of a couple of different songs… definitely a jizz-in-pants moment for those dudes.
This pic is from my friend Jill Augusto’s Blackberry who was standing next to me. My cell takes even worse pics. Fuck you phones. I take a dump on you both.
At the afterparty Bob Saget walked by me and asked me if I wanted to have a 3some with him and Mary-Kate… I said YES of course… but asked if Mary-Kate could just watch. HAHA I’M TOTALLY KIDDING… WHY WOULD I WANT HER TO WATCH??? WE HAD HER WAIT OUTSIDE IN THE CAR.

For this first week of Conan O’Brien’s debut as the host of THE TONIGHT SHOW I’ll post recaps of each night’s episode so here’s the clips from last night featuring an interview with Tom Hanks & a performance by Green Day. Conan is in true form and I’m stoked.
Tonight he’s got Julia Louise-Dreyfus, Bradley Cooper (from the new movie THE HANGOVER), and Sheryl Crow.

Green Day performing East Jesus Nowhere on The Late Show with David Letterman. Watch it all the way through… Tre is damn Cool.

Green Day’s 21st Century Breakdown debut at #1 on the Billboard charts with 215,000 copies sold in 3 days despite not being available at Walmart stores which is pretty damn impressive — No Walmart and only a 3 day total (they released it last Friday as opposed to on a Tuesday like most releases) — I’m anxious to see what its full week’s total is going to be.
Walmart won’t carry it because they refuse to carry any album with a Parental Advisory on it and Green Day refuses to make an edited version. Wasn’t that the whole point of the Parental Advisory sticker? To inform buyers that their was adult content on the album?
That’s so lame that Walmart has this policy. Especially when an example lyric from 21st is “So don’t you fuck me around.” It’s not like it’s some rapper talking about wanting to fuck a bunch of bitches or something of that sort.
The fact that they will sell rated R movies that are full of profanity and nudity, but put a retarded restriction on music is something that should be stopped. I take a dump on you, Walmart, and wish you had a face to be stabbed.
